Lesson Overview

In this lesson, we take a big-picture look at key issues that underlie most dis-ease, and review verifiable healing principles.

Objective

Be familiar with key issues that underlie most dis-ease, including chronic stress and inflammation, and review verifiable principles of healing, including specific lifestyle factors that restore the body’s natural healing forces.

Description

Name 5 issues that typically underlie dis-ease. Cite 5 factual principles that empower the healing process. Explain why students don’t need to be informed about these issues in order to begin experiencing better health and well-being. When students want more information, explain what can impede their quest, and what can be particularly helpful. Explore knowledge and principles of adaptive yoga that will help teachers to maximize their effectiveness. Discuss pressures and issues that have compromised the integrity of yoga teachings, but how the true essence and power of yoga remains intact and accessible.

5 Core Health Issues

We find people in modern societies who are suffering from imbalance emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.

People may be experiencing any number of symptoms or “diagnoses,” but the underlying cause of dis-ease is typically an imbalance resulting from one or more of the following:

  1. Chronic stress
  2. Unhealed trauma
  3. Chronic inflammation and/or microbiome imbalance
  4. Chronic pain
  5. Addiction / distraction / disconnection (from body, emotions, inner wisdom)

By becoming familiar with these core subjects, you’ll access vast bodies of knowledge that can explain how dis-ease manifests, and how and why people heal and balance their physical and energetic bodies.
