can i practice sequences from multiple teachers in your room?

The Question

I've been working with another teacher who gave me a modified sequence that pulls from multiple series. When I come to your room, is it okay to keep practicing that sequence, or do I need to follow a specific approach here?

— from a MJH note

Our Response

I don’t care what sequence you do. I don’t care what drishti you keep.

I care if you care what drishti you keep. And I care if you can tell me what you’re doing and why.

If you’re just stitching random things together because someone handed you a chart and you’re guessing—that’s different. But if you’re working deliberately, if there’s intention behind it, if you know what you’re practicing? Have at it.

You’re not going to make me care about your sequence more than you do. That’s the line. Show up with clarity about your work, and I’ll support how you work.
